The War Within Us Is The One That Will Kill Us

I wish looking at people meant looking into their souls. If we were all born the same, same colour, same religion, same size, do you think life would be better? Sometimes I think it would. But maybe there’s supposed to be difficulties, maybe there’s supposed to be differences so people can take the time to learn about each other. We are all human, it’s absolutely ridiculous to say that everyone in America is crazy. It’s utterly ridiculous to say that all Muslims are crazy. Conspiracy is real. Educate yourselves before you judge or make hurtful comments. There is a much bigger picture, bigger than all of us. Why is it so easy to ignore these facts? As they say, ignorance is bliss. But ignorance can lead to war. Ignorance has led to many wars.

Imagine a world with no limits. Do you picture one big never-ending party? Or do you picture riots and destruction? We need limits. Don’t be a victim of brainwashing. Things aren’t always what they seem. People can be evil, but people can also be good, and we should never stop believing in the good. Never stop trying to be good. Who do you want to be? What do you stand for?  Is it something good? Find something to believe in and don’t be a sheep. Do your research. Open your heart and open your mind.

You don’t have to be Muslim to care about what’s going on in Gaza, you just have to be human. You don’t have to be African to care about the starving children in Africa, you just have to have a heart pumping in your chest. People are suffering everywhere in the world… and instead of helping them, most resources are used for petty wars.

We can’t control natural disasters. Natural disasters have killed people and destroyed houses. Life can be taken away in such an unexpected and terrifying way. But the real disaster is the man who picks up a gun and shoots an innocent woman in the face.

I don’t like to feel powerless so I don’t like watching the news. There’s so much evil in the world and I wonder, what can I do about it? Sometimes I feel like that girl in Mean Girls, ‘I wish we could all get along. I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy’. She made a lot of sense.

We can’t all save the world, but we can fight the evil in our world. Stop judging people because they’re different. It starts with you, doing the right thing.

  1. Well said Miss Fakier.

This war is not about race or religion. As with any war, any fight, any effort it comes down to one thing: what is right and what is wrong.

Yes, there are arguments from both sides of the fence. And I have discovered what many others before me have also discovered: all these arguments that are filed and flung and furiously handed out like vicodin samples at a drug convention does little to help the real victims of any war: the innocent people on both sides of the fence who just want to live an undisturbed and peaceful life and are paying the ultimate price for simply being in the land they were born in.

And as for the politicians of the world? They serve no purpose other than to instigate “political posturing” that runs circles of influence among their own kind and attempt to prolong their own self-preservation in their various cabinets. They are only interested in themselves.

The buck truly does stop with us. Before you belong to a religion, a clique, a group, a faction, a social denomination you are a human being. People should learn to grow a heart before they decide to grow balls and brain-washed ideologies running on pseudo-intellectual motives which rely on the intimidation and/or beguiling of others’ emotions and sympathies to survive.

We are the community of Man. We possess good and we possess evil. We are two sides of the same coin and we cannot exist without each other. It is the differences in this world which makes us whole.

I’d love to hear more about what you have to write on this topic.

  2. Wow, I couldn’t have said it better myself. You’re right, politicians are too power-hungry and self-involved to even care. You have very interesting insights… let me know if you’re interested in doing a guest post, I’d love to hear more.
